Columbus State Ends the Regular Season as Top Team in Golf World/NIKE Golf Division II Coaches' Poll NEW YORK, NY-The fourth Golf World/NIKE Golf Division II Coaches’ Poll of the spring season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, NIKE Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, III and the NAIA, will appear in the May 18th issue of Golf World. Columbus State remains the number one team in the D-II poll, earning six of the 12 first-place votes. The Cougars will compete next week in the NCAA D-II Championship at Loomis Trail GC in Blaine, Wash. after advancing out of the South/Southeast Regional last week. They have three wins and 10 top-five finishes in 11 events this season. Georgia College remained No. 2 and received three first-place votes. The Bobcats also advanced to nationals out of the South/Southeast Regional and have two wins this spring. Barry sits in the third spot, having moved up from No. 12 in the last poll. In their last three events the Buccaneers have finished first, second and third; they’re now headed to nationals. Lynn and North Alabama finished tied for fourth place, with North Alabama earning the remaining three first-place votes after winning the South/Southeast Regional (its third straight victory). The Lions were ranked No. 11 in the previous coaches’ poll. Six schools moved into the top-25 based on solid play in the NCAA regional tournaments: No. 10 CSU-Stanislaus, No. 16 Northeastern State, No. 18 CU-Colorado Springs, No. 19 Barton, No. 23 Grand Canyon and No. 25 Coker.
