The Fuji Xerox USA vs. Japan Collegiate Golf Championship – the longest running international collegiate golf event in the world – will tee off its 31st anniversary at Sun Hills Country Club July 13-15. First held in 1975 at Narashino Country Club in Japan , the US-Japan matches have been held annually in cooperation with the Japanese Student Golf Association.
These matches feature outstanding men's and women's college players from the United States and Japan . Founded to help promote international goodwill through the game of golf, former U.S. players include Curtis Strange, Jay Haas, Peter Jacobsen, Brad Faxon, Juli Inkster, Davis Love III, Steve Stricker, Dottie Pepper, Todd Hamilton, David Toms, Ben Curtis, Bob Tway and Scott Verplank.
The United States holds a 23-8 lead in the all-time series, including nine-straight wins.
